Ever since I was a child I have felt a strong connection to the spiritual dimension of life. This awareness has continually propelled me along my journey of self discovery and healing. Throughout my life I have questioned much of what I was told, knowing that there was a greater reality beyond what we could perceive with our five senses. Through this investigation I have uncovered deeper truths to who I am and what life is.
I received my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from San Francisco State University in 2008, and have studied many forms of alternative healing over the years. My real education, however, has come through a series of spiritual awakenings that were a part of my experience of healing from a disease that I was told was incurable (Ulcerative Colitis). During my process of healing I began to see the limitations of traditional therapy, understanding the deep connection between the mind, emotions, body, and spirit. Through spiritual practices, mindful awareness techniques, and right nutrition and exercise, I learned to heal myself, allowing more peace and happiness into my life. I have been fully healed from Ulcerative Colitis since 2009.
Healing is a process of surrendering beliefs about who we think we are, and what we think our life should be about. The mind is not equipped to understand the beauty, love, and mystery of the Universe. Healing and greater awareness enter our lives more fully when we empty our cup first, creating space for the actual experience and magic of what life is, and who we truly are.
I offer spiritual counseling and holistic counseling over the phone and by Skype. When I’m not providing counseling services I enjoy singing, playing music, dancing, painting, gardening, researching holistic health and alternative medicine, cooking, spending time in nature, practicing yoga, and meditation.
